The oak island mystery | Update Feb 2020

With Season 7 of the curse of the oak island soon coming to a close, I felt it would be a good idea to do a little update. If like me you tune in every week to see how much progress has been made but the Lagina brothers and the oak island team.

The Oak Island mystery refers to stories of buried treasure and unexplained objects found on or near Oak Island in Nova Scotia. Since the 19th century, a number of attempts have been made to locate treasure and artifacts. Theories about artifacts present on the island range from pirate treasure, to Shakespearean manuscripts, to possibly the Holy Grail or the Ark of the Covenant, with the Grail and the Ark having been buried there by the Knights Templar. Various items have surfaced over the years that were found on the island, some of which have since been carbon-dated and found to be hundreds of years old. Although these items can be considered a treasure in their own right, no significant main treasure site has ever been found. The site consists of digs by numerous people and groups of people. The original shaft, in an unknown location today, was dug by early explorers and known as "the money pit". "The curse" is said to have originated more than a century ago and stated that seven men will die in the search for the treasure before it is found. To date, six men have died in their efforts to find the treasure.

So where are Lagina brothers up to? this year has marked one of the most productive seasons on the island in recent years, A number of discoveries have been made from new structures that pre-dates any treasure speakers know and located deep in the waters off the coast. Could these be linked to the mysterious flood tunnels said to be traps set to keep anyone from getting their hands on the tressure? Tim will tell If nothing else it proves that there has indeed been significant construction on the island and before the original story of the Oak Island treasure, you must admit after all these years of wild speculation and theories this surly lends some credence to their being something being hidden? right?

Gary Drayton metal detection expert seems to think so, Like everything he collects from the island seems to predate the first evidence of inhabitants living on the land, yet evidence of iron tools from Axes, metal spikes used in the construction of jetties or even boat building. Existing times? We yes, in fact, yes they are and even tho they have had some issues with storms threatening the project they have persevered and have come up with some pretty compelling evidence to back up at least some of the claims and theories put forward in the last 7 seasons of the show. One thing I've been looking forward to was the exploration of the swamp. Looking at this triangle gap in the middle of Oak Island it's clear to me at least that the swamp could be hiding some secrets deep in the murky water. The idea that the swamp is man-made has been talked about during the seasons and how Oak iland could have been in fact two islands once upon a time and maybe to the site of a hidden sunken ship and then sealed off to create the perfect hiding place for a Spanish galleon filled with gold, silver, and other treasure? Or will be still speculating on this mystery season 10 and beyond?

Let's hope the season reveals something amazing as there was some speculation that Marty and Rick Lagina might have finally made some kind of discovery that definitively connects the Oak iland mystery to some of the existing theories.

We shall see.
